Counselling for couples or individuals, anxiety or depression
Finding the right counsellor to provide a safe enough working alliance might seem a challenging task when you first begin. I see a lot of people with depression and anxiety (sadly many of us can suffer with these problems) and I'm happy to see you on your own or with a partner.
My counselling room is spacious and welcoming and is tucked away in a quiet corner of a well-established business centre here in Ossett Wakefield. It's easy to find, less than a mile from the M1 motorway junction 40 (see map on my Practicalities page) with plenty of free parking and a full time receptionist should you get stuck at all.
My core training is person centred. That said, I've found that over the years through further training and understanding I have become what you might call an eclectic counsellor, where I pick various strategies and systems from different counselling models that best suit you, my individual client.
I've been a counsellor since 2004 and in that time I've seen over 500 clients and clocked up in excess of 3000 hours of therapy to encompass individuals, couples and group process.
Prior to this my work experiences include retailing, prison officer, weight management consultancy and probation service.
My professional membership includes The Register of Applied Psychology Practice for Supervisors RAPPS and being an individual member of the BACP adhering to their ethical framework. I am also on the accredited register of the professional standards authority of which further details can be found on my Practicalities page.
Clients find their way to me by being referred by their doctor, various insurance schemes and through direct means including recommendation which is brilliant. I offer individual and couples counselling to all age groups. For further information please take a look at my About me page.
